Broke But Making Films

Dispatches From The Frontline Of Guerilla Cinema

Patron

We’re thrilled to announce legendary British film director Barney Platts-Mills as the new patron of Broke But Making Films (BBMF). As well as being the creative force behind the classic film, Bronco Bullfrog from 1969, which was Selectione a l’Unanimite pour Semain de la Critique, Festival de Cannes and won a Screenwriter’s Guild award for Best Original Screenplay, Barney also founded the Portobello Film Festival and one of the founders of The Portobello Pop Up Cinema.

Here’s what he had to say about BBMF:

“The need for independent cinema is self evident, many Corporate and Government organisations benefit from pretending to support it.  Thank God for BBMF treading the path of genuine independence.  Lets hope that we can now use the new technology to make a real basis for original, individual cinema and build an audience outside the Corporate entertainment machine.”
